Benton Charter Township will hold a public meeting on proposed wastewater collection system improvement projects for the purpose of receiving comments from interested persons. The meeting will include a presentation of a project planning document that will be used to apply for funding from the State of Michigan.

The public meeting will be held during the Benton Charter Township Board Meeting at 5:30 p.m. on April 15, 2025, at the Benton Charter Township offices at 1725 Territorial Rd, Benton Harbor, MI 49022.

The purpose of the proposed projects is to construct necessary improvements to the wastewater infrastructure for the Township. The projects include sewer replacement, new sewer construction, and lift station and force main abandonment. Impacts of the proposed projects include temporary disruptions commonly associated with the construction process including noise, dust, and traffic control in project areas. The benefits include a more reliable and efficient wastewater system.
